Shark Bite Fitting Depth

    The SharkBite site mentions installing their fittings to a certain depth. They show a chart listing the different depths for different size pipe. And their deburring tool functions as a depth stop. Anyhow, the question is this: is this depth a MINIMUM so that the seal engages? What if you go PAST this depth and bottom the fitting out? Does that cause any problem? I have only used these once in the past before I became aware of this depth issue, and at that time I just shoved it on until it bottomed out. Want to know a little more now in case I use more of them. Thanks.

    Not helpful. Anyone else have any experience with SharkBite fittings?

    No this is the right forum... since sharkbites are plumbing and maybe some people cant get over that fact.
    Don't be turned away.
    I dont see any problem with what your doing. If gou contact sharkbite though theyre going to tell you the true answer.
