I have an unfinished attic space above the garage and there is roughed in plumbing for a bathroom and kitchenette. The space is used for arts and crafts and I was planning to install a large sink where the bathroom sink was intended. When scoping out the project I realized that the sewage drain/vent pipe had been cut off at the floor level and about 3" above the drywall ceiling, it was just sitting in place held by the pipe going into the ceiling. I can join re-join the drain at the floor easily enough with a coupler, but I am left wondering how to connect to the roof vent without having to replace the whole thing and go on the roof.
