Hello Plumbers!

I'm ready to modify my existing bathroom waste plumbing, by cutting off the old elbow / flange assembly. I want the flange to locate in the same position, so I'm thinking of using a coupling, with a short piece of 3" abs, to achieve that purpose - does that make sense? Secondly, I'm of a mind the flange should sit on top of the finished tile floor; my flooring will consist of 3/4" ply, 1/4" ditra, then 5/16" porcelin tile. How can I best achieve this?

Hey, thanks for that, Frodo. Am I correct in wanting to set the flange in it's original position? I figured I'd be 1 3/4"'s back from where it sits now if I don't use my coupling idea. Do they make a female to male elbow that would suit this situation?
