I’ve had a slowly dripping bathtub faucet, and finally decided to try to fix it. I removed the handle, the plastic stem, and the seat and spring. When I took the spring to the hardware store to Find the right replacement, I couldn’t find one that was the right size. I tried Ace Hardware, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. I’ve also tried to contact peerless, who I believe is The manufacturer, but I’m not certain about this. I have attached photos of The seat and spring I found Behind the handle. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas about how to find a good replacement? Does someone know the right place to find the part? Even if it’s discontinued. Feeling desperate over here. Thank you!!

Thanks @Twowaxhack ! Do you or does someone have a measurement on those? I find it irritating that the dimensions aren’t posted on the sale website, or maybe I’m just missing it.
Thank you!!

And actually, did find the dimensions for the valley set that was suggested (see photo attached) and it looks like it’s too large too, comparing it to the original photos I shared. Right?

No, that appears to be the package size. The parts are small. You might should consider calling a pro.....

You can’t post pics of the actual faucet and trim ?

Ya that makes sense that it would be the package. Trying to avoid calling a professional plumber because I have replaced seeds and stems before no I can do this myself. It’s just a matter of finding the right product. I’ll probably just buy the site you recommended @Twowaxhack and return if needed. Here’s the faucet and the cartridge

I hate to ask but, can you take detail pics of all the hardware you’ve removed ?

keep everything else out of the pics, no fingers, no tape measure necessary.

show what keeps the stem in the faucet and any handle or stem extenders or nuts.

show the shape of the stem where the handle fits on

Just lay the parts out on a table and take a couple pics from different angles.

@Twowaxhack
Here are some more photos! If helpful angles are missing, I’m happy to take more. In the last photo you’ll see the old smaller seat and spring next to a valley seat and spring I order, for comparison

Also, in the third photo, you’ll see I’ve temporarily plugged the leaking hole with an ear plug so that we can keep the water on

@Twowaxhack (thank you for your support so far!!) or anyone else! The Milwaukee seats were the right size, but the drip continues. The seat and spring didn’t seem to sit back into the cartridge fully. They didn’t go in as far as the old ones did (though they did fit and were very similar in shape and size to the old ones!) And the faucet handle did seem Harder to turn when reassembled. Thinking this is because of increased friction due to the seats and spring sticking out farther than the old ones did. Thinking that I may just need to replace the whole cartridge. @Twowaxhack noted that part of the cartridge is stuck in the valve (see photos above). Ideas about how I can extract it without damaging the pipes? Or thoughts about fixing the problem without a whole new carriage? Would still like to give this shot because the drip is manageable and can do some basic plumbing. But also realize I may need to call a professional. Thank you!!!

You should order the new cartridge and have it on hand.

You’ll need to reach in the valve with needle nose pliers and grab onto the rest of the cartridge then pull straight out.

It’s held in there by an oring .
