I also learned that abs pipe under stress (not enough wiggle room) will succumb to cracking. This particular length had 2 fittings crack and a length (about 3") of pipe. Because everything was under pressure, the cracks didn't really show up as you would expect but they unloaded a lot of water which fed a lot of mold. My theory is that when really hot dishwasher water went down the drain, it opened the cracks. Cold water testing really didn't get the cracks to open up much and didn't show me much either. Unlike Frodo, I don't know anyone up here who doesn't have ABS in their house.I have a question. The OP has had a LOT of cracks on the ABS pipes and fittings. What in the heck causes that? I though ABS was pretty sturdy stuff.
