The hot water pressure was almost non-existent. So we bought a new cartridge to replace the current one. It’s a Danze. The new cartridge looks exactly like the old one, except the long metal part is more round. From what I understand that just means we will need a different handle. The problem is, the cartridge can only be installed a certain way because of the pins that connect. I’ve redone this so many times. But now when I turn the water back on, when I turn the cartridge (like the handle would) it doesn’t turn off at all. Hot water, and cold water.

Pictures please.

And next time, take pics before taking anything apart, if you didn’t already.
And a series of pics as you proceed.

Always helps to re-assemble correctly.

Contact customer service, or search Youtube for videos.

Here is a vid of a Danze replacement.
Looks kind of like a Delta clone to me.
Maybe they have several models and you bought one that is not compatible?

So, here are the pics. I did take pics as I did everything btw.

Ive watched every YouTube video there is... multiple times. Hence why I’m here. In this video the guy doesn’t actually replace the whole cartridge, just the top valve.

Dumb question, but did you install the new little springs and rubber boots also?

Not dumb. The springs and stuff are in the cartridge. I found this out by the video I had seen (same one you just posted) and taking apart the old one. It doesn’t come apart easy. It came pre-lubricanted so I know I shouldn’t have to replace them with the new one.

Looks like everything came out to me, I see an empty valve body.

What else did you change that he did not?

I admit I just skimmed through his video.

Maybe there is a pressure balancing unit that comes after those springs?
My eyes are blurry today, can’t tell if I am looking at a brass valve body or maybe a pbu still stuck in there.
