Repair or Replace main water line?

Interesting views on warranties. I have a problematic water shut off valve for the kitchen faucet, leaks maybe a drop a month, gone through 3 valve changes (latest being a Dahl) in 18 months, wrote about it previously here. The plumber that did the latest valve change said the only thing left to do is cut the copper pipe and put a new Dahl on, $200. No one has ever offered to fix this under warranty and I guess I can see why.
 
Wow Tom, I wish all the customers were like you. Especially happening the next day. Around here we would get the old saying
"that joint wasn't leaking before you came". I would of repaired it for nothing.
