Renovation plate vs. Tile guy

Need to replace leaking shower/tub valve through a tiled wall where the is no access from the other side of wall. Is a Delta Shower Renovation Plate an acceptable solution that a plumber can install without needing a tile guy to repair the wall?

I take the tile out when I replace them.

Some plumbers choose to install through a hole the remodel plate will cover.
