Trying to remove a 45 year old eljer valve.
Those cheap tool sets they sale doesn't fit the valve snuggly and I can't get it to catch. The female end od is the same as the points on the nut I'm trying to catch. I've tried using one of those ratchet that slides over bolts but the shoulder on the valve won't let me seat the socket then I tried pb blaster and vice grips and then a torch.
It is in a fiber glass tub shower enclosure.
Wold appreciate any recommendations on what tool to buy or removal sop.

Thanks

Got it out. They had soldered it.
put a vice grip on the valve got a 4 ft pipe that fit over the vice grips and heated the check out of it.
