This could be a silly question, but because I was unable to google the answer I figured I'd try a plumbers forum, so I appreciate any help.

I'm putting together my own high pressure misting system instead of paying the high prices for one, and I want to preserve my pump life. If I add a 4 gallon water pressure tank charged at 120psi, with a pump that runs at 105psi. Would my pump need to be able to run with an output pressure higher than 120psi in order to fill my tank, or will it charge to the full 120psi pressure so long as my timer/shut off solenoid is closed?
