PVC Splicer/Adapter to Join two pipes?

So I finally got through the slab to the tub P-trap and it looks good. I cut off the slip joint fitting on the vertical pipe and was wondering if it would be acceptable to level the cut and use a PVC female/female splicer or adapter to glue join the existing vertical pipe with the drain assembly so I don't have to remove the P-trap?

The the trap is in the proper position then yes you can use a hub x hub coupling to continue. No problem.
