I am a total novice and I want to try to replace my old sink with a sink that is two or three inches deeper. The new sink should fit right in the old space, but I just noticed a pipe that is directly below the bowl would be in the way of the new sink. Is there a way that I could shorten the pipe? I think it might be easier to get a sink the same depth as the old sink. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could cut a few inches above the cabinet base, drop the sink in,
The way it’s piped now is correct I don’t have the capability of drawing it for you
Google pics of it or someone here will show you
Were you cut it above the sink base add a ( dandy clean out) then start your piping from there

Yeah just cut below tee. When new sink is set into place. Mark your new height of drain cut and coupling.
