We have a stand alone water system with a pressure pump and pressure tank and various filters (UV etc.). There's plenty of water in our storage tanks. The pressure pump is set to come on at 40 psi and shut off at 60 psi. Lately the pressure pump trigger switch has been working only intermittently. Sometimes it comes on at 40 psi and sometimes it lets the pressure drop to zero. The switch and pressure tank are both about 20 years old. We've tested the pressure tank and the balloon has proper pressure in it.
Any ideas as to what the problem is and what the fix would be? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. Cleaned the line from switch to pump. Fingers crossed that the problem is solved.
