Possible to bend my kitchen faucet for better flow angle?

Thank you, I put it in a bowl of vinegar to soak overnight.

Am I correct in thinking the only point of an aerator is to conserve water? We have very low water pressure, so if that's the only purpose I'm tempted to just skip it. The water from the faucet looks unusually clear now instead of white but other than that I wonder if there's a disadvantage to not using an aerator?

And about our water pressure, the flow from the kitchen sink is now 13 seconds to fill a 1500ml container, which I think means one gallon of water in 32.5 seconds, or about 2 gpm. Unfortunately that's normal in our house. I wonder how 2 gpm would translate to psi. I ordered one of these to check.

The aerator makes a smaller stream of water seem more vigorous.
The stream also tends to splash less, since it is cushioned with air.

Interesting point about splashing. The water is indeed a little splashy now.

After soaking the aerator overnight I was able to open it, and there's a little black rubber ring around an opening in the aerator, and it was gunked up.

I removed it and cleaned it and it's as good as new now. Since we have low water pressure I left the ring out, at least for now.

Working perfectly now. Thanks hugely for all the help!
