Possible septic tank issue?

Hello,

I am a know-nothing first-timer and appreciate any thoughts here. We are considering a home purchase in a semi-rural area; the home uses a septic tank and well. Viewing the property from above via Google Earth, a large patch of dug-up ground is visible. Part of the area looks like a serpentine pattern where pipes might be located. Is this a septic "pit"? Assuming the particular image is fairly recent, should I be concerned about what the photo shows? What questions should I ask? At present, this area looks more normal as see in the second photo.

Appears to be a recent septic and drain field install, what is the age of the house? Did you get your questions answered? Kitsap Pumping

If you look at it on google earth the date is on the bottom of the screen. Also any work done should of been documented with the county or municipality if it was done legitimately.
