We are planning on installing a semi inground (half at grade half above ground) pool in our backyard which has a septic system. There is a no build area of the yard containing the leachfield.
Sewer has recently become available to us but we aren't hooked up yet, so 2 questions.
If we remain on septic, how close can we dig to the leachfield to put the pool? The pool will not be located on the leachfield but about 4 feet away. Is the soil contaminated and will it smell?
If we go onto sewer and want to encroach a few feet into the leachfield to build the pool, what do we need to do to prepare the leachfield for digging?
