I can't seem to find any valves that have a plastic nut. I am unable to remove this nut too.

Does anyone know what kind of valve this is please.

Plastic nut is an adapter. My local ACE Hardware has a pretty good selection of bits and pieces. I’d probably pull the whole stem assembly, the brass head under the plastic nut, And head to the ACE, 90% chance they can get me what I need to repair it.

Check the seat, it may be replaceable, if so try to find a new one.B49FCDCA-E70A-4975-B114-DF298484A9F8.jpeg
this is the assembly for my downstairs bathtub. Old parts to left, new spares on right. From the top, o-ring, rubber flat washer, stem packing, and seat.

Is the adapter a part of the tap head opposed to the valve. Would it be possible to replace this with a new valve and tap head long as the valves match?

I was wondering if screwfix it toolstation would have the valve I need

I’m not sure if they have ace hardwares in England.

Try a faucet specialist store or a hardware store.

Put ice in your tea……and sugar !

99% (unofficial tally) of the plumbers on this site are USA based, sorry, but we don't have the same products. Similar in function won't cut it in your case.
Sometimes a neighborhood handy-person can help. What do you call them where you live?
We also call the thing you have a faucet vs 'tap'.
As a wise and powerful plumber, I always require my customers to convert single taps into one-hole( single hole) hot/cold mixer faucet and plug or put soap pump in the spare hole.

Me too. But since a lot of our stuff was built by the CCCs in the thirties. They don’t always let me.
