Hi all,
I'm trying to install an autofilling and draining dog water bowl. The directions were simple enough and came with all the associated plumbing parts, however, where I intend to install it may or may not be a challenge. When I opened up the wall I had no room between the p trap and drain to put a tailpipe in (see attached photo). I'm wondering if there's a way that I can connect the two without a a tailpipe or perhaps the tiniest tailpipe? The only other option would be to move it to the other side of the stud and drill a hole through to give enough room, however that configuration is less than ideal for the dogs. I could probably raise it an inch, maybe 2 before it starts competing with the sink.

You can’t just run the drain outside ? I guess it might freeze up north.....

You’ll need to cut a tee into that pvc pipe and install a ptrap. You’ll need to make room fir that to be accomplished or it’ll never work.

Uploading a video for detail. Can't run the drain outside, too cold.
