Hello everyone...See attached pic of my backyard plumbing drain stub-out that was put there by my builder so that I can build an outdoor kitchen and plumb the sink to that drain line. What is the purpose of that entire loop? Intuitively, I simply plumb my sink to that drain end on the right, and the other side facing the yard is the clean out--all that makes sense. So, I should not cut or modify anything to that loop configuration, correct? Just trying to understand the purpose of that loop setup to have more insights on what I can and can't do.

It's a poor attempt at an Island vent. It shouldn't tie back into the drain pipe like that. Even if it did its need to be 3" pipe to give it a chance at working correctly.

It's not going to make much of a difference since your outside.
