Attention Frodo and anyone else wanting to use Gif's, they are back up and running!
my little band of gil's thank you !!
I still am seeing a problem with some of my gif's being converted to jpg's.

Here's the information:
the current settings require that an uploaded gif image be less than 390kb in size, and less than 700x700 pixels in dimensions. So if a gif is uploaded that exceeds those limitations, it gets resized and converted to a jpeg, which might be the issue that havasu ran into.

Did you copy and paste my gif? If so, it was already converted to jpg before the copy. Best bet is to find a Gif on the web, which is larger than the parameters, then reduce it to see if it just makes it a smaller GIF.
Good job Frodo! You got it to work!
got another glitch.
go to internet land.
copy an image.
come back here and paste it in the chat box..
why wont it work by pasting directly in the box?
you have to click enter url,of image then paste to it
I'm guessing because it needs to be in computer language....or this is done as a safeguard similar to hotlinking photos, which is prohibited on most, if not all forums.
downloaded the gif, then uploading as an image
downloaded gif from above
it uploads as a gif
then downloads as jpg
also have noticed if i go to internet,,copyimage
then paste to here..nothing..blank page
sometimes i can click enter url of image, paste there..but sometimes it will not work either
What you are attempting to do is hot linking. This site has safeguards to disallow this function.
