Good morning, newbie here. I am working on learning more about maintaining my old house.
I‘m currently puzzled by the stagnant smell coming from my bathroom sink faucet when I first turn the water on. My thought is the water is sitting in the line between use, but this doesn’t happen in my other sinks…

Yeah, I'm also guessing the aerator, remove it, flush out the tap, clean (soak in bleach) or replace it, and see if that solves the problem.

If that doesn't do it, maybe something else in the faucet assembly, though getting at and fixing is going to be more difficult. Shut off the water under the sink, remove and drain the feed lines, pull the handles and remove the valve assemblies, clean, replace washers and other soft parts, soak in bleach, etc.

Well or municipal water?
