I’m completely replacing two side by side bathrooms in a gut renovation I’m working on. I’ve cut out a good portion of the old soil stack (Cast iron HUB connected with lead and oakum). I’ve got the floors open and plenty of clearance below to run pipes however I want. (Drop ceiling below me).

I’ve never run plumbing for toilets before so I wanted to get some advice on how this is done right.

I can put whatever fittings I want onto the soil stack.

I’m using no hub cast iron.

Here’s my planned layout and how I think the toilets could be plumbed.

Feel free to critique.

Why not go back with 4 inch pvc?

Hey Jeff,

Why not PVC….
1. It’s noisy when compared to cast iron
2. I don’t like the smell of the PVC chemicals
3. I have way more experience with NH Cast iron
4. and the real reason …. Once you glue PVC you can’t undo it. I’m not experienced enough to do it once and keep it set. I’m going to need to adjust many times.
