Hi,

I am doing som renovations in my bathroom (new tup, sink, and moving a wall so all new pipes) I am turning off the water, cutting the hot and cold pipes and capping them untill I get the new stuff installled.

The cold water is iron, so do I nee to thread it to screw on a cap? Or can I soldier like the copper pipe?

Unscrew the steel pipe back to its last fitting. then put a plug or cap on the already threaded pipe.

You cannot solder Iron like copper...

Good luck
