My house has a PRV that was installed beyond a tee off to the garden. I would like to move the PRV ahead of the tee so the garden doesn't have 120PSI which is splitting a hose every 2 months.

The pipe is 1" PVC up to and beyond the split and then transitions to copper where it the existing PRV is installed and it then enters the house.

Since the pipe is 1", should I also get a 1" PRV or does it really matter? There seems to be a lot more 3/4" models on the market.

What connection types should I be using to connect the (brass?) PRV to PVC?

Finally, any recommended brands or brands to avoid?

Thanks
