Mirolin tub waste strainer size?

Recently got a Mirolin Austin (BO60R) tub. When the waste strainer is installed it’s sunk in to the mould. A great place for water to sit in my opinion.
1) is this really how this should sit? I’m comparing the new acrylic tub to the old steel tub which sits flush all around the flange.
2) I see watco makes a 3.1” wide flange strainer. Is this my best option?

The drain opening in the tub should measure 2”.

Here in America the standard opening is 1.5”.

I’d contact the manufacturer.

Yes, the drain opening is 2”. Matches the spec sheet. I am more so concerned with how the strainer sits inside of the indent. Closer Photo attached. On my current tubs the strainer sits flush with the inside of the tub. This tub has a noticeable indent. Maybe this is how this should sit, maybe not. I don’t see very many tubs day to do. So I’m looking for someone with experience to let me know if I’m crazy or not.

A Delta RP31558 has an outer diameter of 2.83”. What does yours measure ?

Some older tubs here had a larger flange. Not made any longer that I’m aware of.

Maybe someone else can help but I’d be on the phone with manufacturer and see what they have to say.

I wouldn’t install it like that from new. I’d return the tub if it came down to it.

2 13/16” so about the same.
The watco one is 3.1”
I will for sure reach out to the manufacturer before installing. Just figured I’d try my luck online first lol.

Looks like that one you have from watco would be better at 3” but still not big enough. That recess is huge.
