Metered Natural Gas Volume

Researching tankless units. Seems with some of them, the gas meter has to be upgraded.
Here are the specifications:
Gas meter Information (off the meter label):

System Pressure 60psi
ANSI Class250 Model 250
Gas/air Capacity 250 196 CFH@1/2" WC

Tankless unit @160,000 BTU'S
Temperature rise from incoming water to 120 degrees F is:
55 degrees Winter
45 degrees Summer

Gas appliances in house:
Boiler 140,000
Hot Water heater 65000
Dryer 22000
Cooktop 5 burner 46700. Up to 30000 used at once and rarely.

Increase of 95000 btus from current hot water heater.

Added: Pipe(8 ft) from meter is 1 1/4" to 1" pipe
1" pipe for 8 feet, then 3/4" to boiler/hot water heater for 3 ft.

You’ll probably be ok. That meter can flow approximately 385 cu ft.

It’s borderline. Call you gas provider, upgrade meter should be free.

In Michigan it was around 700 bucks, that was back in 2008. Many people didnt figure that into there tankless savings.

Y’all getting ripped off. They give incentives to use more gas here.

Yeah and that was back in the push to go tankless with the big tax credit. I am not sure what it is now, I am back doing large commercial BIM jobs.
