This house has been winterized a few months ago. I don't know why the main from the basement floor is disconnected from the meter.
What is the square nut on the end of the basement floor pipe?
Am I missing a valve handle on that pipe? That looks important.
Can someone tell me what I might need to do to hook this up correctly?

Also, in the second picture, the house part of the main is very crooked. It is the black piping so it is not flexible. I'm not so sure about aligning the pipe by force?

In the third picture, what is that white (it was white) bandaging around the pipe indicative of?

Help is appriciated! Thanks!

The "square" nut is the adapter nut for the meter. All you should need to do is lift the meter and screw the nut onto the meter. I would replace the handleless valve with a ball valve before turning on the water. The tape is probably for condensation prevention. There should not be black pipe in the water system.
