Good afternoon!!
I bough this house a month ago and now it’s the time to fix my back yard, decided to turn on the sprinkler water pump and the noise that comes out of it doesn’t sound normal, takes like good 40 seconds to pull water from the well and then after a min or two loses pressure and then comes back up for another 2-3 min and rinse and repeat, any ideas?
I leave a clip of the noise but don’t know how to send it so you guys can hear it

Above ground pump or submersible? Pressure up and down while using water or when all outlets are closed? What does the pressure gauge show while all this is happening?

Thanks for the answer,
It is a above ground pump Goulds pressure goes down, this pump never had gauge before, my concern it’s the noise and I can’t find places to buy parts for it

Have you checked to make sure there is adequate water in the well? Sounds like either the well has gone dry or the screen is plugged.

Found out the galvanized pipe was broken so I was advised to use a 1 1/4 20 feet pvc pipe to conected to the pump, when I took out the old pvc pipe only was down like 4 feet that’s why I was loosing suction.
Now in Florida is is better to install a foot check valve or just a check valve just before the elbow of the pipe going down the well??
thanks

The suction pipe should be down near the bottom of the well, but 1-2 feet from the bottom so it doesn't suck up any silt. It can be farther up depending on well recovery, but you don't know what that is I assume. There should be a foot valve on the bottom, and no other check valve, so when you prime it it's primed all the way. We have a similar pump, but we pump out of the lake, so we are not lifting the water more that 4 feet, the most you can lift water with that kind of pump is about 21 feet. This advice is worth just what you paid for it, 0!
