Hello new to forum

My septic tank is old, cement but only one tank for solids and liquids. My leech field is not corrugated but the good old clay tiles, linked end to end. My tank is full and causing overflow on the surface. My question is, will putting in new runs with corrugated tile help my situation, and I live in Michigan can I do this myself with the help of my father in law who's in the sewer business. Thank you for your time and sorry if this has been asked before

All repairs, alteration, installations has to be approved and a licensed contractor has to do the work.

When was your last service preformed ? (pumped/inspection)

You may actually need a permit to have anything altered on your system. If it is just getting it sucked, you can get a licensed sewage sucker to drain it, but if you need to make adjustments, you will have to contact your local department of health and get a permit.
