My kitchen faucet has leaked for a while now. It didn't start until I replaced the diverter. Thr attached picture is also something that came out in that process and I believe it may be what is causing my issue? The sink drips about 7 or 8 seconds after I turn the faucet off and then it is fine until it is turned off again.

It's part of the diverter, look behind the spout when removed

It didn't come with the diverter, though. It was already with the faucet. Can anyone givee a visual representation please? Thanks in advance.

What brand of faucet do you have and is it a 2 handle or single handle. A picture usually helps if you can.

Did you change the rubber seats & springs. Try that and you should be good on the dripping. Plenty of you tube
videos on this if you haven't done it before.
