This seems like it would have a siphon issue, but was inspected by the city for permits at the time of bathroom remodel and passed. Was seen by 2 inspectors at the time of final neither indicated an issue.20210523_115013.jpg
 
Thanks, not that I'm aware of no unusual odors. Just wanted to see if it was worth adding Aav. Read alot about S traps and didn't want any future issues.
 
The tailpiece drop is so short and the pipe being oversized the siphon probably doesn't get itself going.

It's unlikely, but possible someone did this on purpose. Still not legal and probably just one of those happy accidents.
 
They probably did it to maximize cabinet space
