So I’ve gotten this far, castle nut removed and to the rubber seal. The shower pan acts like it’s still attached. Could anyone help me with what I need to do now to get this thing out? Do I need to start cutting into the pan to get to the nut on the bottom, or should the pan slide up and put now? Thanks in advance

on mine there was a hard rubber seal that was driven between the pipe and the pan. That sealed it, looked almost like caulking but it was a seal. Had to dig it out with a screwdriver blade on mine. Yours may be different, I don't know.

Yea mine has that same type of seal, working on digging it out today. So far it has just pulled out in tiny pieces with needle nose pliers

With the castle nut removed the whole shower base and attached drain should slide off the pipe.
