So I’ve gotten this far, castle nut removed and to the rubber seal. The shower pan acts like it’s still attached. Could anyone help me with what I need to do now to get this thing out? Thanks in advance

There’s a nut on the bottom of the shower that holds the drain tight to the shower.

All you’ve done is disconnect the shower drain from the pipe.

Thanks that’s what I was afraid of, how do I go about getting to the nut on the bottom? Do I need to start cutting up the shower pan? I guess I should have mentioned originally that my goal is to remove the entire shower pan

The entire base with shower drain will now lift off the pipe. The drain doesn’t have to be removed from the shower base.
