So I've been doing a full remodel on foreclosure that I bought for me and my wife to move into. And today I go to connect the shower spout and shower head etc.

I ran into a problem where the copper coming out of wall through tub wall is to long for spout. I have pictures attached to show the issue.

How can I fix this issue?

Thread in a close nipple. Or you could use a male adapter with a piece of 1/2" copper soldered onto it. Put your tub spouts adapter onto it and solder the face.

The picture of the copper wth that end piece(sorry not sure what it's called, don't know too much about plumbing), that was already there I never changed it.

So that being said, do I try and remove the end piece and then thread in a close nipple?

Alright great! Thank you Mr_David and Matt30 for your help! Will try that tomorrow!
