    26 year plumber here (union) in Southern California. Mostly commercial. Hotels, casinos, military projects, some residential but that was mostly in my early years. I don’t get to do much plumbing other than my underground, once the project goes vertical, the logistics keeps me tied up.

    Back when I was running bigger projects for someone else, I used to always look forward to the underground. Like you say, that was just about the only time I would be able to get my hands dirty. Once they started pouring or framing, the only tools I got to use were my eyes, feet, mouth, and phone.
