Recovery was/is horrid. Been 9 years, still have pain. Can't get on my knees. No more golfing, and now, I need to recap them, which is another major surgery.
Really sorry to hear that especially about the loss of golf and the need for more surgery.

You would think with our advanced medical technology, rather than replacing the bones and hinge points, then replacing your patella (kneecap), it seems someone could invent a rubber pad that slides between your thigh and lower leg bones, so you are no longer "bone on bone."
They tried to regrow the cartilage in my left knee with micro fracture surgery many, many years ago after I tore it up but it never really panned out. I am a candidate to get it replaced but never had it done.
