We have outdoor faucets which have a different thread than a garden hose thread. We have to use a "freezeless" adapter in order to connect a garden hose to the faucet. The only adapter we can get starts to leak badly after a year or two and must be replaced. We live in the desert. Is there an adapter for the faucet which has garden hose thread but is not a freezeless type so it won't leak?

Thank you for your time and attention to this.

What's wrong with replacing the hose bib?
Being in SoCal I'm not familiar with freezing temperatures.

The "adapter" is probably an anti-siphon device. Many States require this type hose bibb to pass inspection. I would just change the whole bibb.
