Anybody know what this is? and what it does?

Hi there,

I am hoping one of you kind people may be able to assist me. I appear to have a small leak coming from whatever this thing is.

Firstly I have no idea what this is, does anybody know what this is and what it does?

It’s attached to my main water intake via a pressure release value ans is also connected to my immersion heater relief valve.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What ever that is connected to is in need of service. That is a relief line, it is to let you know there is an internal issue to whatever it is serving.

that almost looks like an air gap for a backflow preventor but i really cant tell what is connected to it cn you show us were it connects??????
