I have a 1956 construction house in Michigan. The shower has a tub spout that is leaking. I'm new to shower plumbing, but I think it might be a bad washer by the handle/valve. The only problem is I can't figure out how to take it apart, and I haven't been able to even ID the brand to find more help online. I put a picture below. Anyone have some helpful tips/suggestions?

Handle would be either screw on or held in place with screws or Allen screws.

There is a set screw on the handle, but I've removed that and the handle does not come off. There appears to be a small metal piece on the valve that prevents the handle from coming off.

It's hard to see, but there's a little piece inside the hole where the set screw was.

I think that’s a Speakman.
That's a new brand to me. It does have a plate with hot and cold that looks similar, but I'm not seeing my model with a Google search.

The plate also says Boston, but I can't find a Boston plumbing brand. If I could get the handle off, I've seen I can count the splines.

WD40 was specifically to be a water displacement product.
None of the penetrating fluids ever do anything of consequence.
Stopped using decades ago and no downsides.
Gently heating the larger portion of any issue can sometimes help loosen screws or nuts.
