Deck Mount Tub Faucet Questions

I am replacing a Kohler deck mounted tub set which is part of a jacuzzi. I can unscrew the handles and spout and I'm wondering if I can simply replace this set up with any brand, or are the valve stems different on different brands? I've added a photo. Note that there's a small sleeve that fits over the stem and I've placed that next to the stem in the photo.

kohler orugh in valve needs kohler trim, same with ay manufacturer.

Thanks. Appears that I'm stuck with Kohler which isn't a horrible thing, but the option is to pull the tub or remove tiles to access the existing valve system. Wish I'd have thought to add a screw in tile to the tub frame way back when and I'm glad the valve has held up for 19 years!

If you look on-line you should be able to find the trim kit that goes on this faucet. Find your model number and then
start looking. It will save you from having to replace the valve.
