D box question

Hi

I dug up my distribution box today but I can't seem to get the lid off. It should be as obvious as it looks but I'm concerned about breaking it since it is plastic. Doubt I could get a replacement for it if I did trash it. I'll attach a few pictures.

It's painfully obvious that the top round cover should come off but I can't find a break in the lid. It appears to be one piece with the box.

I appreciate the views. I figured out that the top is part of the molded box. So I bought a plug and drew an outline of it on the top and cut it out. As suspected the d box was full of sludge and roots. Completely blocking one pipe. The other pipe I don't know. I'm thinking roots further down. I couldn't feel anything. More important - water is flowing again.
