This is the view inside a DC water meter. I'm wondering what the pipes coming in and out of it are made of. The first image is after I scrubbed it with a kitchen sponge, the other two are of how I found it initially. Can anyone say what material is this?

it that is a water meter saddle, could be bronze, or copper..... like this: 1606050672295.png

( back in 1982 to 1989, I was water meter reader / tester / installer / turn off your water-er ) We did not have saddles where I was, in Texas, but I know they use them in colder regions, widely
