I'm relocating my kitchen and trying to tie into existing plumbing. The kitchen sink with garbage disposal and dishwasher will need to go where a small shower used to be. Can I cap the old shower drain in the concrete floor and tie the sink into the existing drain and vent? Or do I have to tear out the old shower drain? Picture attached. Very new to plumbing any recommendations are helpful.

You should be fine. I would chisel around it, cut it down and glue a cap on. Then cement over. I know guys that would pour hydraulic cement into the trap and let it go at that. But I prefer capping it off the right way.

I would pull measurements and write them down of where the center of the drain is. May never need it but if you do need to know where it is one day at least you have it.
