I was thinking that as well, but not sure if that blue pipe will work with sharkbite. Not sure if I need a polybutene fitting or just regular sharkbite will work

You've already got a Sharkbite fitting in that line, so re-do it with Sharkbite fittings.

This is the blue pipe labels. Is this polybutene?

Based on the manufacturing date of 2015, I'm going to say no. PB pipe was sued out of production in 1999 or 2000, if i am not mistaken.

How can the MFG date be 2015? Moved to the house 2013 and never changed that pipe but house was built in the 80's.

It looked like the date printed on it says 00-12-15, so if it is not the production date, it must be manufacturing numbers only. Sorry for the confusion. I do know I had to re-pipe in 2001 because of having pB pipe, and my PB pipe was a gray color.

The 00-12-15 might be European style date, with the year 2000 coming first, then Dec 15th.

If that valve is a main shutoff, maybe the city changed out your meter since moving in, and they worked on that pipe?

Well it is PB, found another label down the pipe. Now I don't even want to touch the gray connector to copper. Do you guys recommend changing this in the future?

Sharkbite makes a coupling that goes from polybutelyne to CTS pipe.
