Hello all, could use some assistance trying to identify these antique shower fixtures. Pretty sure it’s all original to 1946 when the house was built. I have an experienced plumber telling me it’s Briggs, and a supply house insisting it’s American Standard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What matters here is what the valve actually looks like.
I would vote Am. Std., but it really doesn't matter. If you are looking to replace a valve stem, then pictures and measurement matters.

Why are there four handles?

Is there a separate set for shower head and tub spout?

Yes, apparently it's a rare set up with the 2 valve system for the shower, and the 2 valve for the tub.

You are correct, once we got it all apart turns out it was American Standard. Thank you.
