hi I am a new member here and have a question about septic tanks, but I will first discribe the system.

I have a small remote cabin which I installed a small system at. It consists of a 300 gallon poly tank and a small leach field. The cabin is used maybe one weekend a month with two people.

My question is this, with such limited use is it possible for solids to completely break down? And if not how long would you expect before it would need pumping? I am used to my system at my home which we have pumped every few years just as a precaution. Thanks!A2FA3329-5832-42A1-AF63-57477835F573.jpegB2A10698-2011-4EF9-9005-15FE1DB3D0DA.jpeg E0E8E271-DE96-4067-A427-D5DB60BC91CA.jpeg

We have a similar situation at our cabin, and we went at least 15 years. Might be a good idea to put some yeast in it, we do.
