I know NG and LNG are the same substance, natural gas. But, LNG comes from a canister and NG comes from the municipality and they have different gas pressure. Buying a tankless hot water heater that says LNG on it, will it run on municipal NG? My city supplies 7 CW gas pressure, tankless unit wants 8 CW pressure.

Your 7 CW confused me, I think you mean WC, which means water column, about .25 psi. If the pressure is the only issue it would probably work, but use piping that's plenty big to assure a good volume. I would research the LNG, that's not very common.
