My water heater stopped working 2days ago so today I checked the thermocouple and it was bad. I went and got a new one and the pilot light still wont stay lit unless I jump the high limit switch. The switch doesn't show open with a meter but the reset pin is loose so when you touch it at all the readings go from .1 to 1.3k. Have to order a switch online so is it safe to jump it for a few days? The cold showers are killing me.

No it is not safe and anyone that tells you otherwise is wrong

Yeah, that's what I figured, I was hoping though. Found a plumbing supply place that has it and will get one in the morning. Thanks

How old is your water heater. If its less than 6 years Bradford White will send you a new one for free. Even if you buy one
you could call and have an extra one on hand.
