Anyone recognize this faucet and know how to disassemble the valve? Hot water valve is not shutting off fully and shows some black gunk on the stem. I pried off the cap, loosened the slotted-head screw underneath. But pulling up on the handle, it doesn't feel like it is going to budge. I could pull harder but I don't want to break it out of ignorance...

I haven't been able to remove the screw completely. No way to grip it. Tried a magnet, but it didn't feel like it was sticking to the screw at all. Maybe a brass or SS screw? But I am confident it is fully backed out.

No set screw from the side that I can see.

I tried unscrewing that bell shaped portion (escutcheon?) but the whole body spun in the countertop until the fitting below the counter hit the one next to it.

There is a big plastic nut under the counter. I really hope that isn't the answer because access would be awful.

Thanks in advance!

Get a new faucet. I'm not kidding.
I demo'd that exact mfr's faucet just last week. PLAN ON REPLACING.
You need a skinny screwdriver to loosen the screw down in there.
I used a pipe wrench to unscrew the crappy, bell shaped chrome trim escutcheon to get the thing removed.
The lever handle is a part of the escutcheon, it does not pop off separately.
You may need an assistant with a faucet wrench to hold the valve body below the deck.
Demo that faucet and say goodby! Badly designed for serviceability.

FYI, with the screw loose, the handle is on splines. (won't come off separately).
Removing escutcheon: impossible, tried with strap wrench first. Pipe wrench worked.
