I went to connect the P trap under my kitchen sink. I needed to just connect the "out end" to the captive nut on the 1 1/2" PVC elbow. But to my surprise the captive nut was too wide (2" ?) and it doesn't even come down far enough to meet the threads on the P trap. Is there an adapter or such that I should be using?
